Leonardo Martinez, 42, of Elmhurst, was busted following a stop on Friday, Feb. 16, when members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Bucks Hollow Road in the Mahopac area of the Town of Carmel.
During the stop, deputies determined that Martinez, who was accompanied by two females, 23 and 28, both of Queens, was operating the vehicle without a valid drivers license.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Martinez had solicited a number of individuals from Westchester and Putnam Counties to engage in sexual conduct with the two women in exchange for money, the Sheriff's Office said.
Martinez was also found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine.
Martinez was charged with one felony count of promoting prostitution and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He is being held at the Putnam County Correctional Facility on $15,000/$25,000 bail/bond.
The investigation is on-going.
